Until recently, Samsung avoided releasing simplified versions of its flagships, but in 2019 everything changed. So, in a slender row of top-end devices appeared “budget” Galaxy S10e, and in January this year, it was joined by Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite. It seems that the release of the light version of the flagship is already becoming a tradition for the company, but it continues to experiment with naming.
Galaxy S20 FE was finally presented today (Fan Edition), which is positioned as a youth version of the Galaxy S20 with “love for fans” and all its “beauty” lies in the lower price tag. The novelty is also perfect for those who do not like curved screens and do not mind getting a Samsung device in a more colorful “wrapper”.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is equipped with Super AMOLED Infinity-O matrix with a diagonal of 6.5 inches with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. From the flagships – the refresh rate is 120 Hz. Inside the case, with IP68 protection and 8.4 mm thickness, there is a 4500 mAh battery with support for fast 25W charging. But users will find a 15W charger bundled with the device. We did not forget to offer wireless and reversible charging.
The smartphone is based on Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990, has 6/8 GB of operational LPDDR5 memory and 128/256 GB permanent UFS 3.1. There is a 32 MP selfie camera and a three-piece rear 12 MP (OIS, PDAF, f / 1.8) + 8 MP (telephoto lens, optical zoom 3x, f / 2.4) + 12 MP (wide-angle sensor, f / 2.2).
Equipped the novelty with a display fingerprint scanner, 32-bit DAC, USB Type-C port, NFC module, support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6. The smartphone was not awarded a headphone jack. The novelty is running Android 10 with the proprietary shell One UI 2.5.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will go on sale on October 2 (in Russia from October 9, 49,990 rubles) at a price of $ 699 for the version with 6/128 GB of memory. Price tags for modifications 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB have not been announced.
