The Royole FlexPai smartphone, which was previously loudly called “the world’s first foldable device”, today has found a successor. The Chinese are making a second attempt to enter the market with a foldable smartphone that has a flexible display, a Snapdragon 865 chip and an Android 10 operating system. Unlike its predecessor, the FlexPai 2 should still hit store shelves at a price of $ 1470 for the version with 8/256 GB of memory , and for the modification 12/512 GB they requested $ 1700.
The novelty has received the third generation Cicada Wing flexible display manufactured by Royole. Its diagonal is 7.8 inches with a resolution of 1920×1440 pixels. By folding the device in half, the user gets a main 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1440×900 pixels and an additional 5.4-inch display with a resolution of 1440×810 pixels.
The novelty weighs 339 grams and hides a 4450 mAh battery with 18-watt fast charging inside it. The smartphone has 8/12 GB of RAM, 256/512 GB of permanent memory, a USB Type-C port, a side fingerprint sensor, a couple of stereo speakers, a 32 MP camera for selfies and the main one with 64 MP + 16 MP (wide-angle) + 8 MP sensors (telephoto, 3x optical zoom, 30x digital). Royole FlexPai 2 runs Android 10 operating system with waterOS 2.0 add-on.
