Redmi K40 Pro will receive 5nm Snapdragon 875 processor Yesterday Apple announced the 4th generation iPad Air and 8th generation iPad. The 2020 iPad Air is powered by Apple’s A14 Bionic chipset, the world’s first 5nm processor . The same chipset could be used to build smartphones in the upcoming iPhone 12 series. As for Android flagships, most of them are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s new flagship chip, also built using a 5nm process. Although the name of the processor has not been revealed, it is speculated that it will come out as the Snapdragon 875 . Today, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing posted a post on Weibo in which he hinted at new Redmi products with 5nm chipset .
Qualcomm may launch the Snapdragon 875 mobile platform by the end of this year or early 2021. The first phones with Snapdragon 875 will be released in the first quarter of 2021. It is rumored that Xiaomi and Vivo will be the first brands to launch Snapdragon 875 based flagships.
In February this year, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Mi 10 series with the Snapdragon 865 processor. In March, Redmi announced the Redmi K30 Pro with an SD865 chip. The first Redmi device with the new Snapdragon 875 chipset could be the Redmi K40 Pro smartphone .
It is rumored that Redmi may announce Redmi K40 by the end of this year and may launch Redmi K40 Pro in the first quarter of 2021 . The K40 is speculated to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 775 chipset. The Redmi K40 will provide full screen mode, support fast charging, and a high-resolution camera lens.
Xiaomi is expected to release Xiaomi Mi 20 (or Mi 11) flagship phones ahead of the China Spring Festival in February 2021 year . Likely Redmi K40 Pro could debut in March . There is currently no information on the other specifications of the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro smartphones.
