Edge X: Motorola prepares a high-end oriented smartphone (Snapdragon 898)
Since its takeover by the Chinese Lenovo, Motorola is no longer really a manufacturer of high-end smartphones, except to a lesser extent the “Edge” product range.
And it’s a new Edge smartphone that should be in the news in a few months. Chen Jin, the general manager of Motorola in China, has indeed teased this Motorola Edge X on the microblogging site Weibo.
It’s expected that the Edge X will have some really high-end features. Leaker Digital Station is banking on the presence of a Snapdragon 898 processor, which would make the Edge X one of the very first smartphone models to feature Qualcomm’s latest chip.
You can legitimately bet on 12GB of RAM (6-12GB for the Edge 20), at least the presence of a periscope lens with a large optical zoom (x5 on the Edge 20) and also a very large battery (4500mAh on the Edge 20). The price can also soar and approach 800 euros (nearly 700 euros for the Edge 20).
