DJI Action 2: DJI unveils ultra-modular action cam
A few weeks before the end of the year holidays, DJI is releasing its new action cam, the DJI Action 2, which is mainly characterized by its extreme compactness (only 56 grams)… and its great modularity!
The DJI Action 2 has been designed as a “basic brick” on which a multitude of accessories can be grafted “redesigned to be practical” according to Paul Pan, Product Line Manager at DJI.

The mini box – which comes standard with a 1.76-inch OLED screen, a 1/1.7-inch 14-megapixel sensor and 32GB of storage – can be fitted with a bike or helmet mount, a tripod, an extra screen, a MicroSD port, a battery, etc. Each module attaches to the camera via a system of strong magnets. Beyond this original design, the DJI Action 2 does not forget the basics of the category: the camera is waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. Modular, but not fragile…
The video recording goes up to 4K in 120 frames per second. The 150° viewing angle is quite monstrous for a camera of this size, and we have all the usual technological advances of the manufacturer (RockSteady 2.0 stabilization) as well as some welcome novelties (HorizonSteady, DJI Matrix Stereo for spatialized sound recording, etc.).
The basic battery life is 70 minutes, and up to 180 minutes with the additional power module. The DJI Action 2 is available for purchase today at a price of 519 euros with the dual screen, and will be available even cheaper (399 euros) towards the end of November in the Energy Combo version (additional power module).
